Job summary

Braun Intertec Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (CMT) to perform routine and complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt. You will conduct field concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature) and field density tests, and prepare daily reports of field activities.

Qualifications include ICC Reinforced Concrete or Soils SI Certification, ACI Field-Testing Certification, state DOT or NICET certifications, a high school diploma

Qualifications

• ICC Reinforced Concrete or Soils SI Certification required.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification required.
• State DOT certifications and/or NICET certifications.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Excellent plan reading skills.
• Demonstrated math and technical aptitude.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• Comfortable outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to reach, climb, balance and crouch as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine & complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
• Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature.
• Perform field density tests of soils.
• Prepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior technicians to ensure specifications are followed.
• Assist with training & mentoring of junior staff, as needed.
