Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete) for our Charlotte, NC office. The role focuses on structural inspections of rebar, foundations, and related materials, with field and laboratory testing across construction sites.

You will prepare reports, evaluate subgrade conditions, and communicate findings to clients and project teams. Qualified candidates will hold ICC Reinforced Concrete certification; PTI Certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• ICC Reinforced Concrete certification is required.
• PTI Certification is a plus.
• Ability to learn to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations.
• Perform field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt.
• Prepare detailed field reports with all test results and observations.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare reports of results.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering staff regarding construction issues.
