Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete & Masonry) for our Charleston, SC office.

The role involves structural inspections, field and lab testing, and producing detailed reports. Candidates must hold ICC Reinforced Concrete and/or Structural Masonry credentials, with ICC Steel & Bolting and Welding certifications also required; MSI preferred. This position offers growth, travel between sites, and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• ICC certifications are required for reinforced concrete or structural masonry.
• ICC steel & bolting and welding certifications are required.
• MSI certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rebar, masonry, post‑tensioning, and foundations.
• Perform field tests of soil, concrete, and asphalt.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Conduct laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions with recommended actions.
• Communicate findings with clients, contractors, and staff.
