Job summary

Kleinfelder's Central and Northern California offices are seeking a Special Inspector to join our Bay Area team. You will perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials, in the field, and prepare daily reports to support project goals.

Requirements include high school diploma and multiple certifications; willingness to travel; strong initiative and MS Office skills; valid driver's license and clean driving record. Salary ranges disclosed per CA pay scale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Certifications include (or the ability to obtain within 60 days): ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I; Radiation Safety & Nuclear Density Gauge Operation Training; ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector; ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector.
• Additional certifications will be given consideration: ICC Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector; ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector; ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector; ICC Spray Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector; ICC Soils Special Inspector; PCI Level II or III; AWS Certified Welding Inspector; NDT Level II in UT; NDT Level II in MT; NDT Level II in PT; TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
• Perform routine laboratory tests on soils and concrete, including compaction curves and concrete compressive strength tests.
• Interact daily with owner and contractor teams to inspect active work projects and prepare daily reports and data sheets.
