Job summary

Northrop Grumman in VSFB, CA is seeking a Test Engineering Manager 2 to lead a diverse team of flight test and field engineers preparing ICBM launch facilities for flight testing. The role requires DoD Secret clearance and a background in EVMS and test planning.

You will collaborate with internal teams and government partners to ensure facilities are operable and safe, while managing cost, schedule, and performance in a fast-paced program environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience, Master's Degree and 6 years of experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with EVMS systems.
• 1 year experience leading a technical team as a project or program manager and/or driving performance against schedule.
• Experience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
• Experience tracing test requirements to systems engineering framework.
• Experience writing test plans and procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage a diverse team of flight test and field engineers for ICBM facilities.
• Oversee missile component movement, emplacement, site post-launch recovery, and next-launch prep.
• Lead test procedure development and ensure training and qualification.
• Oversee health and safety compliance across multiple sites.
• Ensure Launch Facilities and Centers are operable and safe for flight tests.
• Manage test and support equipment under configuration control.
• Collaborate with NG teams, suppliers, and government partners on Sentinel development.
• Plan ICBM flight test prep activities addressing cost, schedule, and performance.
