Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a role in Monroeville, PA. The candidate will prepare samples for physical and chemical testing, digest samples with acids, and ensure analyses follow standardized methods.

You will operate and maintain lab equipment, record data, and uphold strict safety practices while communicating findings to the team. A related science degree is favored but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with sample preparation is a plus.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for testing using crushing, grinding, weighing, ashing, and filtering.
• Digest samples with acids and prepare for analysis per standardized methods.
• Conduct standardized tests, monitor parameters, record data by hand or verify automated data.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment, perform minor adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Follow and promote safe lab practices; suggest safety improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for physical and chemical testing using techniques such as crushing, grinding, weighing, ashing, and filtering.
• Digest samples with acids and prepare them for analysis following NIOSH, ASTM, USP, FCC, and other standardized methodologies.
• Conduct standardized tests, monitor test parameters, and record data manually or verify data captured by automated systems.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, performing minor adjustments and troubleshooting as needed.
• Follow and promote safe laboratory practices; recommend improvements to equipment set up and operational procedures to enhance safety.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational background in a related science field; a four-year degree is preferred but not required.
• Experience with sample preparation is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and effective communication skills are essential.

Additional Requirements/Skills

• Ionic Chromatography experience is a must.
• Commercial Analytical setting experience a plus.
• Taking initiative, being able to come in and hit the ground running.
