Job summary

AMD is seeking an IC CAD Engineer to support the Cadence Virtuoso platform and LEF generation in a hybrid design environment. You will verify setups for new technology enablement, evaluate features with vendors, and provide user support to meet schedules.

Your role will enable AI agents across CAD areas to speed up the design cycle and improve tool UX. You will collaborate across sites/time zones, develop regression testbenches, and mentor users.

Qualifications

• Experience with Virtuoso schematic/layout or any equivalent vendor tool.
• Experience with Calibre coding or any equivalent vendor tool.
• Experience with abstract and LEF generation processes.
• Experience with creating AI agents with Claude Code or any equivalent AI agentic tool.
• Proficiency in Cadence SKILL and Perl.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain Cadence Virtuoso schematic and layout features.
• Develop and maintain the LEF generation flow.
• Develop and maintain the Calibre PDK.
• Work with vendors and designers to evaluate and deploy new features.
• Build regression testbenches to maintain CAD tool and flow quality.
• Provide technical support and training to users across multiple sites.
• Enhance overall user experience through AI agent integration.
