Job summary

AMD seeks an IC CAD Engineer to support the parasitic extraction flow and Cadence Virtuoso in a modern design environment. You will verify setups for new technology and collaborate with vendors to deploy features, while enabling AI agents to speed design cycles.

You will work with a global CAD team, maintaining tool workflows, building regression tests, and providing user training across sites. A strong background in StarRC/Virtuoso tools and scripting is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with StarRC extraction or any equivalent vendor tool.
• Experience with Virtuoso schematic/layout or any equivalent vendor tool.
• Experience with Calibre or any equivalent vendor tool.
• Experience with creating AI agents using Claude Code or any equivalent AI agentic tool.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Tcl, Python, and Cadence SKILL.

The Role

As an IC CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the parasitic extraction flow and Cadence Virtuoso platform in a custom design environment at AMD. You will work with CAD team members to verify existing setups for new technology enablement, collaborate with vendors to evaluate new features for deployment, and provide user support to meet design deliverable schedules. You will also enable AI agents across all CAD areas to speed up the design cycle and improve CAD tool user experience. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our custom CAD flows.

The Person

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, custom design, and verification in general. You are a team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers located across different sites and time zones. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are eager to learn, and ready to tackle challenges. You are passionate about improving processes and user experience through AI integration.
