Job summary

HUB International is seeking an experienced Application Developer to maintain and enhance critical enterprise applications on AS/400 IBM i. You will modernize tooling, migrate source control to Git, and collaborate with business users to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field. You will work with Linux environments and support OpenEdge Progress and MS-Access databases in a dynamic, enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with AS/400 IBM i and RPGLE programming.
• Strong SQL knowledge and database design experience.
• Experience with MS-Access database development.
• Experience with OpenEdge Progress 4GL.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems and scripting.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for business users.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications on AS/400 IBM i using RPGLE.
• Champion modernization with VS Code, Code for IBM i, and Git workflows.
• Develop and support database solutions using MS-Access and OpenEdge Progress.
• Create and maintain Visual Basic applications and integrations.
• Gather requirements from business users and provide technical support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform system administration tasks in Linux environments.
• Document specifications and maintain code repositories.
