Job summary

HUB International is seeking an experienced Application Developer to maintain and modernize legacy enterprise applications. You will work closely with business stakeholders to deliver robust IBM i solutions using RPGLE, SQL, MS Access, and OpenEdge Progress, while embracing modern tooling like VS Code and Git/GitHub.

We value strong communication, independence, and problem-solving as you support Linux systems and provide technical guidance to users across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience with AS/400 (IBM i) and RPGLE development.
• Strong SQL knowledge and database design.
• MS Access database development and management.
• Visual Basic for Applications development.
• OpenEdge Progress 4GL experience.
• Linux OS administration.
• Excellent communication and independence.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications on AS/400 (IBM i) using RPGLE.
• Modernize IBM i with VS Code tooling and GitHub workflows.
• Develop and support MS Access and OpenEdge Progress databases.
• Create Visual Basic applications and integrations.
• Gather requirements and provide technical support to business users.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform Linux system administration.
• Document specifications and maintain code repositories.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field
