Job summary

One Southern Indiana is seeking a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to support WIC mothers and their infants facing complex breastfeeding issues beyond the scope of WIC staff. You will provide specialized counseling to address challenging breastfeeding cases and improve outcomes.

The role reports to the Clark County WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator and requires IBCLC accreditation with at least one year of relevant experience. Prior work with low-SES families is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must have IBCLC accreditation.
• At least 1 year of experience in counseling breastfeeding mother/infant dyads.
• Experience working with lower socio-economic status breastfeeding mothers and infants who experience complex breastfeeding challenges.

Responsibilities

• The Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) will assist WIC mothers and infants with complex breastfeeding problems that are outside the scope of practice of WIC peer counselors and other WIC staff.
• Reports to the Clark County WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator.
