Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a dedicated Lactation Consultant to support breastfeeding mothers and infants across our care teams. You will provide expert guidance, address challenges, and promote maternal and infant health through education and hands-on support.

Collaborating with physicians and nurses, you will develop individualized care plans, conduct follow-up visits, and lead breastfeeding education sessions for families in San Diego County.

Qualifications

• IBCLC certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, nutrition, or related field preferred.
• 1 year of maternal/child health breastfeeding support experience preferred.
• Ability to travel within San Diego County.

Responsabilités

• Assess and evaluate breastfeeding challenges.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
• Provide education on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and nutrition.
• Conduct follow-up consultations to monitor progress and adjust care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for mothers and infants.
• Maintain accurate documentation of consultations and progress notes.
• Stay current with research and best practices in lactation consulting.
• Facilitate workshops or group sessions on breastfeeding education for new parents.
