Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC in Providence, RI is seeking an I&E Technician for maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment at a combined cycle power plant. The role operates within a bargaining unit and offers a consistent hourly rate of $48.62.

Responsibilities include maintenance of major equipment (turbines, HRSGs, generators, E&I systems), reading diagrams, and supporting plant safety.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of trade or technical school training in fundamentals of power plant cycle preferred.
Six years experience maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting I&E systems in power plants or similar settings.
Ability to read process & instrumentation diagrams, electrical one-line diagrams and logic diagrams; use test equipment.
RI Crane Operator license and RI Journeyman Electrician license within 5 years; ISA Level I certification within 5 years.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair all plant I&E equipment from routine maintenance to troubleshooting.
Assist and advise management and plant operators on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance; readings, inspections, lubrication, cleanings, filter changes.
Analyze equipment performance using schematics and manuals; recommend corrective actions.
Maintain and troubleshoot control systems such as Honeywell Experion, Siemens T3000, Honeywell TDC3000, and Allen Bradley.
Use tools and Maximo (maintenance system) to complete work orders and document data.
Observe third-party contractors and ensure safety procedures; participate in safety meetings.
