Job summary

ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals in Crosby, TX seeks an experienced I&E Lead to oversee instrumentation, electrical maintenance, and calibration across the facility. The role requires five years of journey-level electrical/instrumentation experience in industrial settings, strong leadership, and ability to read drawings and troubleshoot PLC/DCS

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of journey-level electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience leading work crews and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and process controls.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, DCS, motor control systems, and instrumentation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, training, direction, and oversight to I&E personnel.
• Verify quality and safety of work; ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Coach and support employee development and performance improvement.
• Read and interpret drawings, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, and specifications.
• Install, commission, and maintain electrical equipment, PLC/DCS systems.
• Review drawings and specs for contract work; inspect completed work.
• Maintain maintenance procedures, schedules, and work instructions.
• Participate in long-range planning for instrumentation and electrical needs.
• Install and calibrate instrumentation (temp, analyzer, flow, pressure, etc.).
• Test and commission control valves, controllers, PLC components, DCS components.
• Test electrical systems for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct loop checks between field instruments and control systems.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Repair or replace faulty electrical components; maintain records and drawings.
• Maintain proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
