Job summary

ALTIVIA Petrochemicals in Haverhill, OH, seeks an I&E Technician to install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and electrical systems supporting safe plant operations.

You will work with operations and maintenance to ensure process control equipment meets company standards and regulatory requirements, while maintaining records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in instrumentation, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing or chemical processing preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, process control systems, and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain transmitters, instruments, control valves, actuators, and positioners.
• Test and record effects of varying operating conditions (temperature, pressure, flow, pH, etc.).
• Utilize calibration and testing equipment (pressure/temperature calibrators, HART communicators).
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems (motors, drives).
• Troubleshoot control loops, instrumentation systems, and electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret interconnection diagrams, P&IDs, loop sheets, and electrical schematics.

Job Summary

The I & E Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and electrical systems that support safe and reliable plant operations. This position works closely with operations and maintenance personnel to ensure process control equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems are functioning efficiently and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain transmitters, instruments, control valves, actuators, and positioners.
• Test and record the effects of varying operating conditions, including vibration, temperature, humidity, pressure, differential pressure, liquid flow, level, pH, conductivity, stress, and chemical analysis.
• Utilize calibration and testing equipment, including pressure and temperature calibrators, HART communicators, and other diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including motors, breakers, drives, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot control loops, instrumentation systems, and electrical equipment to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Test, tune, and calibrate controllers and associated process control equipment.
• Read and interpret interconnection diagrams, P&IDs, loop sheets, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Install and maintain electrical equipment in classified hazardous locations in accordance with applicable codes and safety requirements.
• Respond to emergency situations and perform troubleshooting and repair activities to restore safe and reliable operations.
• Utilize computer systems and workstations to access technical information, maintain records, complete work documentation, and communicate operational information.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, calibration, and repair records.
• Follow all company environmental, health, safety, and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives throughout the facility.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in instrumentation, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, or related environments preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, process control systems, and electrical equipment.
• Experience installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting transmitters, control valves, actuators, analyzers, and related instrumentation.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, breakers, and control circuits.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain process control systems, PLCs, and related equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and electrical installation requirements for classified locations.
• Proficiency with calibration equipment, testing instruments, computers, and maintenance software systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
