Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Warrendale, PA, seeks an Electrical/Computer Engineer (I&C) to support hardware design and documentation for Instrumentation & Control cabinets and related electro-mechanical components. You’ll ensure designs meet system and quality requirements and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve issues in a hybrid work arrangement.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager, with responsibilities spanning drawings, BOMs, specifications, vendor alignment, obsolescence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering as a must.
• 0-3 years of engineering experience.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design.
• Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry.
• Awareness of standard drawings including schematics, cabinet drawings and panel layouts.
• Experience in AutoCAD/3D Modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Issue drawings, bill of materials and technical specifications for I&C Safety System products.
• Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, testing and manufacturing of Safety System hardware products.
• Support the Common Q platform with Vendor and internal alignment.
• Perform Evaluations of Equivalency to maintain manufacturability and part change evaluations.
• Develop engineered solutions and part change evaluations to address obsolescence issues for various electrical products.
• Interface with suppliers and manufacturing facilities to support technical issue resolution.
• Assist in developing equipment qualification test procedures, support during testing, evaluate test results and review final reports.
• Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and shop operations for a variety of products.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design or analysis of products.
• Complete assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
