Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in New Stanton, PA is seeking an I&C Hardware Engineer to design Instrumentation & Control cabinets and related electro‑mechanical hardware, ensuring that hardware designs meet specs and quality requirements.

You will work in a hybrid role, reporting to the I&C Safety Systems Manager, on-site two days a week, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and marketing to support WPB initiatives and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Knowledge of computer hardware, design drawings, and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and hardware requirements.
• Review hardware design focusing on system architecture, cabinet layout, BOM design, and cabling interface.
• Collaborate with quality, supply chain, marketing, customer service, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Support SAP Material Master, BOM, and Routing maintenance; assist with ECO, MWO, and RFQ/Sales Order reviews.
• Develop and perform Commercial Dedication Instruction (CDI) documents.
• Provide technical support on obsolescence management, equipment qualification, lifecycle, and NPI.
• Support marketing and sales through offer development and material updates.
• Establish equipment setups for seismic, environmental, and EMC tests; assist with test procedures and execution.
• Resolve technical issues including obsolescence and participate in test execution.

Job description

As an I&C Hardware Engineer you will work with Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB), supporting the product group with a focus on I&C electrical products. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to design and deliver Instrumentation & Control cabinets and associated electro‑mechanical hardware components and sub‑assemblies, ensuring that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system and quality requirements. You will work with manufacturing operations to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products comply with build‑to‑print drawing packages and specifications.

You will report to the I&C Safety Systems Manager and be located at our New Stanton, PA site. The position is hybrid; you will be on site 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and hardware requirements
• Perform review of hardware design, focusing on system architecture, cabinet layout, Bill of Material design, system cabling interface, custom panel and kit design, cabinet power design
• Collaborate with quality engineering, supply chain management, marketing, customer service, manufacturing and the supplier base
• Provide support for SAP Material Master, Bill of Materials, and Routing maintenance; support Engineering Change Order (ECO), Manufacturing Work Order (MWO), and RFQ/Sales Order review
• Develop and perform Commercial Dedication Instruction (CDI) documents
• Work with engineering and shop operations teams to provide technical support on solution identification, obsolescence management, equipment qualification, product lifecycle and new product introduction
• Support product marketing and sales efforts through offer development support, marketing material updates and presentation material for customers and WPB sales
• Establish equipment setups/monitoring for seismic, environmental, and EMC tests
• Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence
• Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests

Salary

The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills.
