Job summary

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or associate degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, or Chemical Engineering (Canada: Instrumentation Technology diploma program).
• Sound technical proficiency and strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical knowledge to contribute to projects and enhance skills through training.
• Assist I&C engineers and design leads with tasks such as developing instrument indexes, IO assignments, instrumentation data sheets, and purchase requisitions.
• Participate in sizing and selection of instrumentation and control system components.
• Support preparation of control philosophy and narrative documents, Cause & Effect and Shutdown Keys, and control system architecture including panels, loop wiring, and control power distribution.
• Familiarize with reference materials and applicable industry standards, codes, and legislation.
• Comply with Stantec’s HSSE program.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships in a consulting engineering environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
