Job summary

Stantec is seeking a motivated student intern in Electrical/Instrumentation or Industrial Automation to support engineering teams in Bakersfield, CA. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with instrument indexes, IO assignments, data sheets, and requisitions, while applying industry standards.

You will learn sizing and selection of instrumentation components, contribute to control philosophy drafts, and develop problem-solving skills within a consulting environment, under HSSE

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or associate degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong technical proficiency.
• Interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
• Second/third year completion for 3- or 4-year programs; first year for 2-year programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with instrument indexes, IO assignments, instrumentation data sheets, and purchase requisitions.
• Participate in sizing and selection of instrumentation and control system components.
• Support preparation of control philosophy, narrative docs, and control system architecture.
• Familiarize with industry standards, HSSE requirements, and regulatory codes.
• Establish positive working relationships in a consulting environment.
