Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Designer for our Bothell, WA team. You will prepare I&C drawings, perform 2D/3D drafting in AutoCAD or Revit, and integrate 3D instrumentation in the project model using SmartPlant 3D or related tools.

You will verify vendor and discipline drawings and support construction teams during start-up. The role requires an AA/AS in drafting or Instrumentation, with at least two years of industrial or power plant design experience, plus

Qualifications

• AA in drafting or AS degree in Instrumentation / Industrial Automation or equivalent.
• Two years of industrial or power plant design experience or equivalent.
• Understanding of instrument types and installation procedures.
• Experience with drafting standards and document control.

Responsibilities

• Layout I&C drawings from notes, sketches, SOW or DBD; include wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, junction boxes, loop sheets.
• Draft via AutoCAD (2D/3D) or Revit per project.
• Place 3D renderings in plant-wide model using SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or Revit.
• Catalog instrumentation information using design software for reporting.
• Provide installation details and maintain project documentation.
• Check vendor and discipline drawings for accuracy.
• Assist interface coordination (spacing, numbering, control philosophy).
• Conduct material take-offs for bulk commodities.
• Provide on-site or remote instrumentation support during Construction/Start-Up.
