Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Bothell, WA is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II to join our growing team. You will contribute to instrument selection, I&C calculations, and control system design for fast-track projects.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and 2–8 years in power plant or industrial environments, with DCS/PLC and I&C software experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SmartPlant Instrumentation is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 2–8 years of power/industrial engineering experience.
• DCS/PLC experience and control systems knowledge.
• Familiarity with NEC, ASME, NFPA, ISA codes.
• FE exam completed or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instrument selection for P&ID development.
• Perform I&C calculations using approved procedures and software.
• Support control systems engineering: HMI, PLC logic, and comms.
• Develop instrument data sheets and I&C equipment specs.
• Coordinate with major I&C vendors and project team.
• Review vendor drawings for conformance and completeness.
• Provide construction/startup I&C support as needed.
