Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls CSU Engineer for a New Albany, Ohio project. You will plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning and startup activities for complex control systems across a large semiconductor manufacturing facility.

You will lead system turnover, troubleshoot issues, and drive safety, quality, and operational excellence while collaborating with engineers, construction teams, and client representatives.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in mission critical facilities.
• Knowledge of control systems including DCS, BMS, LSS, PLCs; familiarity with Ethernet/IP, Modbus, BACnet, Profinet, OPC.
• Experience leading commissioning and startup activities for large industrial facilities such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, or power projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning strategies, execution plans, test procedures, and work packages for complex I&C systems and support CSU schedule development.
• Review engineering deliverables, control narratives, logic diagrams, P&IDs, and vendor documentation; participate in turnover planning and startup sequence development.
• Lead construction completion walkdowns, verify system readiness for turnover, and validate installation against drawings and specs.
• Manage punch list identification, prioritization, resolution, and closeout; coordinate turnover from construction to commissioning.
• Lead commissioning, functional testing, loop checks, calibration verification, and startup activities for DCS, PLC, SCADA, BAS, LSS, valves, and instruments.
• Support energization, startup, and operational testing; coordinate multi-discipline testing.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, controls, software, communication, and integration issues.
• Prepare and review commissioning procedures, test packages, turnover certificates, and startup documentation.
