Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Solid Propulsion Development Engineer to lead design and testing of solid rocket motor components for hypersonics and other programs. You will interface with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to advance propulsion hardware.

The role requires a BS in a STEM field, 4+ years in rocket propulsion or test engineering, and an active security clearance. Relocation to North Alabama is expected where applicable; Top Secret clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

  • BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • Minimum 4 years in rocket propulsion development or test engineering; 2 years with a Master’s degree
  • Understanding of solid rocket motor components and performance
  • Experience planning and supporting ground testing (thermal, environmental, static firing)
  • Ability to conduct trade studies and develop analysis & evaluation tools
  • Knowledge of applicable standards/regulations and documentation practices
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills to multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must be resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL area
  • Active Secret clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret if needed
