Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Solid Propulsion Development Engineer to lead and oversee propulsion work on hypersonics and related programs. You will interface with project teams and subcontractors to advance solid propulsion systems for space and defense applications.

The role requires 8+ years in propulsion or related testing, ABET-accredited STEM degree, and active Secret clearance (Top Secret possible). Relocation to the Huntsville area is anticipated if not residing nearby.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in aerospace/mechanical or STEM field.
• 8+ years in rocket propulsion development or test engineering; 6+ with a Master’s.
• Understanding of solid rocket motor design and performance.
• Experience planning and supporting ground testing of propulsion systems.
• Ability to write and present technical reports to multidisciplinary teams.
• Residency in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
• Active Secret security clearance; Top Secret possible.

Responsibilities
