Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Metrology Engineer to support the Thermal Protection System (TPS) for the MACH-TB Flight Test Program. The role focuses on developing metrology workflows, tooling, and fixtures, and ensuring precision in high-speed, high-accuracy assembly environments.

The candidate will work with GD&T standards, create digital assemblies, and apply blue light scanning and photogrammetry techniques to verify hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Eng with 4–8 years metrology experience, or Master’s with 2–6 years.
• Hands-on experience with GOM/Zeiss optical scanning systems (ATOS).
• Proficiency in processing 3D data and creating digital assemblies; strong GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with precision metrology in manufacturing environments.
