Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an experienced metrology engineer to drive laser-tracker data collection and interpretation for Terran R production. You will work across teams to translate engineering requirements into optimized inspection and fabrication steps.

You will apply Verisurf X and GD&T knowledge to guide decisions, improve process monitoring, and locate critical welding and machining details during assembly and integration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience with laser trackers.
• Experience analyzing data and generating data reports.
• 8+ years of experience with Verisurf X.
• Experience using inspection equipment (micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, CMM, and laser trackers).
• In-depth familiarity with GD&T to interpret blueprints at all assembly levels.
• Collect geometric data via laser tracker through model-based software such as Verisurf.
• Establish a reference system for the current task and apply it on and off the part.
• Provide analysis of collected data to guide remaining operations.
• Integrate process monitoring with fabrication to locate welding and machining details.

Responsibilities

• Own the laser-tracker data collection and analysis process.
• Interpret GD&T on blueprints for large structures and assemblies.
• Develop and optimize production lines in collaboration with vehicle engineering.
• Translate engineering requirements into actionable fabrication and inspection steps.
