Job summary
Leidos is establishing a new machining facility in Huntsville, AL, and seeks a Hypersonics Machining Manager to lead activation, ramp-up, and production readiness. You will drive CNC machining operations, toolin g, processes, and staffing to meet program milestones while ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets.
The role requires senior technical leadership, strong lean and continuous-improvement capabilities, and experience with non-metallic materials in a manufacturing setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8+ years in manufacturing or a related field.
- 8+ years progressive machining/manufacturing experience including leadership.
- Experience with CNC machining operations and non-metallic machining.
Responsibilities
- Lead facility activation and machining start-up, including equipment installation and production release.
- Develop readiness plans for equipment, tooling, fixturing, and processes.
- Establish machining cells, standard work, and visual management.
- Drive SQCD performance and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Lead a high-performing team of machinists and CNC programmers; recruit and develop talent.
- Maintain safety culture and compliance with EHS and quality standards.
