Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Software Systems Lab Manager for the Hypersonic Software Test Environment to lead the day-to-day operations of a classified engineering lab in North Alabama. You will ensure security, manage budgets, and coordinate with FSO, ISSO, ISSM, and cyber teams to keep the lab compliant and effective.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in a related field (comp eng, CS, EE) with 8+ years in lab ops or similar.
• Experience managing day-to-day operation of an engineering/test lab including equipment, facilities, and scheduling.
• Experience handling laboratory security hazards and operational risks (electrical safety, ESD, RF/EMI, hazardous materials, fire protection).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of classified engineering lab.
• Ensure lab operations comply with applicable DoD security requirements.
• Partner with FSO, ISSO, ISSM, and cyber security to maintain secure and effective operations.
• Identify and mitigate lab safety, security, technical, and operational risks.
• Support engineering integration and test activities as needed.
• Develop and manage lab budget, facility improvements, and long range infrastructure planning.
• Manage equipment calibrations and lifecycle replacements as needed.
