Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Software Systems Lab Manager for its Hypersonic Software Test Environment in Huntsville, AL. You will lead day-to-day lab operations, manage budgets, scheduling, and ensure compliance with DoD security requirements while coordinating with FSO, ISSO, ISSM, and cyber teams.

This senior role requires 8+ years in engineering labs, strong hardware/software integration, Python, SecDevOps experience, and a current US Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited B.S. in computer engineering, CS, EE or similar field with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience managing day-to-day operation of an engineering or test lab with equipment & scheduling.
• Knowledge of handling classified data and security policies (NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117, DSS/DCSA).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of a classified engineering lab.
• Ensure lab operations comply with DoD security requirements.
• Coordinate with FSO/ISSO/ISSM and cyber teams for secure operations.
• Identify and mitigate lab safety, security, and operational risks.
• Support engineering integration and test activities as needed.
• Develop and manage lab budget, facilities planning, and lifecycle planning.
• Manage equipment calibrations and lab access.
