Leidos Defense is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to drive architectural design, hardware-software integration, and deployment of next-generation tactical systems for DoD initiatives. The role involves leading IPTs, translating military standards into hardware requirements, and guiding multi-disciplinary teams through full hardware lifecycles.

You will oversee the design of hypersonic vehicle architectures and Line Replaceable Units, ensuring flight-worthy solutions. U.S.

Competenze

Master’s degree in engineering or related STEM with 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
Experience leading IPTs and translating military standards into hardware requirements.
U.S. Citizenship and Top Secret clearance required; ability to travel 25%+.

Mansioni

Architect, lead, and deliver state-of-the-art hypersonic vehicle designs and LRUs for missile systems.
Support complex system designs utilizing high-integrated multi-disciplinary integration techniques and WOSA frameworks.
Direct multi-disciplinary IPTs and act as the primary internal technical authority, hosting weekly technical interchange meetings with external subcontractors.
Partner with engineering teams to translate military standards into rigorous hardware requirements and support CAMs with technical write-ups, work breakdowns, and schedule estimates.
Act as a certified test conductor or lead verification engineer to establish system-level test plans, environmental stress screening, HWIL integration, and launch-readiness countdown actions.
