Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 5- Airframe IPT Lead in Chandler, Arizona to guide multi-disciplinary teams in the design, integration and delivery of airframe systems for hypersonic environments. The role combines technical leadership with program management to balance cost, schedule and quality.

You will own the airframe maturity, manage the Integrated Master Schedule, coordinate with internal partners and government customers, and ensure design readiness through releases

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field with significant experience.
• Experience leading technical teams on DoD programs and defense systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government clearance and SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Drive Mechanical Design Excellence for airframes and lead a team of engineers across design, manufacturing and test planning.
• Own the Integrated Master Schedule and EVMS processes to balance scope, schedule and costs.
• Lead mass allocation decisions for kill vehicle designs and ensure accuracy of modeling and simulations.
• Oversee design releases and procurement readiness to support timely orders.
• Coordinate maturation events, arcjet tests and structural design verification activities.
• Maintain holistic program view to optimize performance and mission outcomes.
• Foster collaboration across internal teams and external partners with clear communication on risks and trade-offs.
• Serve as government focal point for airframe assembly questions and customer engagement.
