Job summary

Pro-Tel in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Site Supervisor to lead high-visibility fiber optic projects in hyperscaler data centers. You will oversee on-site splicers, manage testing, and ensure ultra-low loss budgets across complex network topologies.

The role requires travel to field locations, hands-on experience with OTDR, OLTS, and fiber characterization, and strong leadership to keep projects on schedule. We offer weekly pay, PTO, a 401(k) with company match, and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities with project management experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for field issues, especially optical link failures.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, Google applications and testing software such as EXFO FastReporter and Viavi.
• Solid understanding of hyperscaler network architectures and high-fiber-count deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site fiber splicing teams to complete deployments on time and to spec.
• Oversee optical testing and ensure loss budgets meet stringent hyperscaler standards.
• Identify risks, report to management, and mitigate safety hazards on site.
• Serve as liaison between client, facilities, trades, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Use project management software to report progress and manage crew schedules.
• Collaborate with management to implement operational improvements.
