Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join Data Center Operations. You will analyze telemetry to identify automation opportunities and drive tooling that improves uptime across a hyperscale server fleet.

The role emphasizes deep data analysis, code-driven solutions, and collaboration with globally distributed teams, with travel up to 25% to support deployments and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in production systems or related large-scale hardware environments.
• 6+ years in fleet automation, hardware lifecycle or data center ops systems.
• Experience building systems software or automation tooling in Python/Bash/PHP/C/C++ for Linux at scale.
• Experience with production systems including web servers, load balancers, databases, storage, and messaging.
• Strong written communication for design decisions across teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the server fleet and drive resolutions to maximize uptime and utilization using telemetry and failure data.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and automation tooling supporting production servers.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements enabling frontline operations to manage and repair servers.
• Drive escalation for Data Center Operations to resolve tooling and hardware issues impacting fleet health.
• Validate and verify new product integration into production environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional tooling teams to contribute to roadmaps.
