Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of hyperscale data center projects across the United States. You will guide field engineers, coordinate contractors, and resolve design and constructability issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The role requires a hands-on mechanical or electrical engineering background, deep knowledge of cooling and power systems, and experience with large-scale EPC or mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years in engineering or technical project execution.
• 5+ years in data center experience (10+ years preferred).
• Hands-on mechanical or electrical engineering background.
• Experience with mission-critical facilities such as hospitals, semiconductors, telecoms or nuclear sites.
• Strong knowledge of cooling systems, chillers and cooling distribution.
• Strong knowledge of data center power systems and utility power integration.
• Lead field engineering teams; resolve RFIs and constructability issues.
• Coordinate engineering contractors, suppliers, vendors and construction teams.
• Experience with projects valued between $500M-$1B.
• On-site leadership throughout project execution.
• Direct experience with AWS, Microsoft, Meta/Facebook or hyperscale operators.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure in data centers.
• Experience with modular construction, PEMB structures, or vendor‑engineered packages.
• BIM coordination and digital model reviews.
• Experience with large EPC, industrial, or mission‑critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical lead for assigned projects and ensure designs are executed correctly.
• Lead Field Engineers and coordinate contractors, suppliers, vendors, and construction teams.
• Drive resolution of RFIs, design clarifications, clashes, and constructability concerns.
• Provide BIM coordination oversight and support standardization initiatives.
• Identify technical risks that could impact schedule, cost, or execution, and mitigate them.
