Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced Cloud Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. You will analyze cloud fleet data, drive automation, and develop tooling to improve uptime and efficiency across globally distributed data centers.

The role requires hands-on development in Python/Bash/C/C++ for Linux-based production environments, plus collaboration with teams worldwide. Travel up to 25% is expected, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in production systems engineering for large-scale cloud environments.
• Experience with hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or data center operations.
• Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux at scale.
• Experience with production systems configuration including web servers, load balancers, databases, storage, and messaging.
• Strong written communication to document designs and align stakeholders across teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the cloud server fleet and drive resolutions to maximize uptime.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and cloud automation tooling for production servers.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Drive escalation for Data Center Operations to resolve cloud tooling and hardware issues.
• Validate and verify new cloud product integrations into production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional cloud tooling teams on roadmaps and open issues.
• Perform data analysis to prioritize cloud automation opportunities for server repair workflows.
• Build relationships and influence policies to improve global cloud data center operations.
• Mentor engineers on resolving fleet issues and improving tools/processes.
• Travel up to 25% to support global data center operations and new site deployments.
