Job summary

Blue Origin in Van Horn, TX, seeks Technicians for hypergol test stand operations, contributing to the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of liquid rocket engine test systems with safety as a core value. The role spans assembling test hardware, wiring, diagnostics, and procedure execution in a high-stakes environment.

The team emphasizes problem-solving, training of junior staff, and adherence to 5S and PPE standards while lifting up to 200 pounds and working at heights.

Qualifications

• Experience in rocket or jet engine testing, rocket engine test facility support, or similar field.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot fluid systems, pneumatics, and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to test facility construction, operation, and maintenance.
• Execute test stand procedures with high reliability and minimal supervision.
• Perform test article integration and system checkouts.
• Fabricate and route pressurization and propellant tubing for hypergolic systems.
• Assist with installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation.
• Review, edit, and follow test procedures and operate test consoles.
• Safely work with hypergolic propellants and high-pressure fluid systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, valves, leaks, and other system components.
• Work with engineers to design concepts/improvements and support test development.
• Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
• Provide input on Ground Support Equipment and test article designs.
