Heartland Dental is seeking a Hygiene Assistant for Modern Dental of The East Valley in Mesa, AZ. This entry-level role supports licensed hygienists, delivers patient education, and helps maintain a smooth dental office workflow.

Ideal candidates have a dental assisting certificate (AZ RHS preferred), strong communication, and a team-oriented attitude. The position includes full-time hours with ongoing training and career development under Heartland Dental.

Qualifications

• On the job training and additional certification may be required based on state requirements.
• Dental Assistant certification and RHS certification in AZ required.
• Some hands-on dental assisting and iTero scanning experience is preferred.
• Confident in interacting with patients and providing patient education.
• Must be positive, self motivated, eager to learn and be a great team player.
• High school graduate or GED Equivalent.
• Team Player.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and protecting PHI as required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Provide superior assistance to supported hygienists during a wide range of procedures.
• Assist with setting up rooms for all hygiene visits, including stocking supplies.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room following safety protocols and OSHA/CDC guidelines.
• Collaborate with providers to maximize office workflow.
