Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor and operate equipment on safety-sensitive utility construction sites, including hand digging, traffic control, fiber placement, and leading crews.
• Read and interpret utility prints and maps to ensure accurate project execution.
• Operate various equipment such as directional drills, mini excavators, plows, and hydro drills, with at least 1 year of independent experience.
• Support project setup and shutdown, including traffic control, in diverse environments like highways and downtown areas.
• Ensure safety compliance and lead by example in all duties.
• Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and homeowners, addressing concerns as needed.
• Train and mentor team members on fiber installation, print reading, equipment operation, and OSHA standards.
• Load and unload materials and equipment at yards and sites.
• Participate in on-the-job training with senior staff to enhance skills.
• Promote hazard identification and safety practices.
• Perform additional duties to support team success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of utility construction experience, preferably as a crew leader or foreman.
• At least 1 year of heavy equipment operation experience with equipment like Hydro drills, mini excavators, and plows.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record; CDL license (or ability to obtain one) required.
