Freeport-McMoRan in Grant County, NM seeks a skilled Diagnostic Mechanic I to safely diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment, pumps, and systems in our Hydrometallurgical operation. The role requires welding skills (MIG/TIG/Stick) and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or equivalent
• Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and basic welding skills
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and safety procedures in English

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair equipment, pumps and systems in Hydrometallurgical process.
• Perform component repair on upenders, mixers, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
• Operate mobile equipment as required (cranes, forklifts).
• Perform welding on structures and equipment.
• Mentor and train other employees; may fill in as supervisor.
