Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Bagdad, AZ is seeking a skilled FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I to ensure reliable operation of mechanical systems, pumps and process equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, diagnostics and hands-on maintenance within a Hydrometallurgical environment. You will perform diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, valves and piping, while mentoring colleagues and possibly filling in as supervisor as required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient welding skills (MIG, TIG, Stick) and basic welding proficiency.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, blueprints and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair equipment, pumps and systems inHydrometallurgical process and infrastructure.
• Perform component diagnostic, replacement and repairs on pumps and related systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance: oil changes, filter checks, lubrication and seal checks.
• Operate or assist with lifting equipment and basic mechanical installations.
• Mentor and train other employees; may fill in as supervisor as needed.
