Job summary

The Arizona Department of Water Resources seeks a Hydrology Intern to support the Hydrology Division and Field Services. This role blends office work with remote tasks and emphasizes data management and GIS support.

You will help convert groundwater and related hydrogeologic data into structured databases, organize files, and assist with data quality control under supervisor guidance. Applicants must be enrolled in a related degree program (Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geography or Water

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in school and pursuing a degree in GIS, Hydrology, Water Resource Management, Geology, Geography or related field.
Experience with computer spreadsheets, relational databases, and GIS mapping techniques.
Ability to translate information into a spreadsheet or database format.
Familiar with geologic, hydrogeologic, hydrologic, and geographic principles.

Responsibilities

Assist with the conversion of groundwater level data, logs, well inventories, and other hydrogeologic data into databases.
Standardize data within ADWR ACCESS and ORACLE databases (GWSI and WELLS55).
Organize paper and electronic well files, scan records, review and compile data from imaged records.
Assist with data quality assurance/control and data matching as directed by Supervisors.
