Job summary

Nippon Sanso Matheson is seeking a Hydrogen Plant Relief Operator in Anacortes, WA. This entry-level role supports day, night, and weekend shifts to cover vacations and daily tasks when coverage is low.

Expect ~40 hours per week with potential move to Operations Technician based on aptitude and safety performance. The role emphasizes learning process operation, safety compliance, and proactive problem solving while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to ensure reliable plant

Qualifications

• Math basics: algebra, fractions, percentages, unit conversion.
• Basic computer proficiency with Word, spreadsheets, email.
• Strong interpersonal abilities to support team philosophy and strategy.
• Basic understanding of electrical hazards and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the steam methane reformer and related equipment.
• Perform rounds, log sheets, water sampling and transfers; maintain housekeeping.
• Demonstrate safety consciousness and eliminate hazards.
• Interpret P&ID drawings to understand operations and troubleshoot anomalies.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintain records.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout and energy isolation procedures.
