Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of power plant electrical equipment, including generators and switchyards. You will develop schematics, prepare designs, and review plans to ensure safety and standards compliance.

The role includes contract administration, budget oversight, and ensuring projects meet schedules. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and NERC standards is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering; ABET accreditation or equivalent coursework.
Knowledge of electrical power systems and equipment.
Experience in design, testing, and maintenance of electrical/electronic systems.
Ability to review plans for safety codes and industry standards (NEC, NFPA, NERC).

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for operation and maintenance of power plant electrical equipment.
Develop and modify electrical schematics, control systems, and wiring diagrams.
Prepare final designs and project specifications for electrical/electronic systems.
Review engineering plans and equipment for safety and adherence to industry standards.
Perform contract administration and monitor contractor performance.
Assist Power Plant Manager to ensure programs meet NERC reliability standards.
Provide technical support for fire detection and security systems.
