Job summary

Eagle Creek Renewable Energy is seeking a Hydro Plant Technician to support the operation of a hydro-electric plant and water intakes. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and reliability of the electrical generating system.

Candidate will perform inspections, operate units, and coordinate with contractors. A valid driver’s license and at least two years in a power plant or industrial setting are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational certificate or degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred.
• Two years of related experience in a power plant/industrial setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate downtime events to regional manager in a timely manner.
• Experience with basic industrial maintenance techniques preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily plant and intake inspections.
• Start and stop generating units and auxiliary equipment per procedures.
• Conduct safety inspections and monitor security systems with logs/reports.
• Operate heavy equipment and hand/power tools including chainsaws.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance for plant reliability.
• Work on rotating schedule covering weekends and holidays.
• Assist in developing plant safety and JSA procedures.
• Respond to alarms and emergent plant issues at any hour.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors during activities.
• Participate in company safety programs.
