Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking Plant Auxiliaries for our hydro facilities across Alabama. This entry-level role offers hands-on work across plant maintenance, cleaning, and basic operations, with opportunities to move into specialist tracks.

Candidates must be able to handle physically demanding tasks and lift heavy equipment while complying with safety standards. Typical shifts run 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime, call-outs, and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Physically demanding work environment with heavy lifting and use of tools.
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be within one hour of the plant or willing to relocate within one hour.

Responsibilities

• Primary focus on cleaning plant, offices and grounds; assist in operation and maintenance of plants.
• Work shift 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.; rotating shifts, overtime, and call-outs as needed.
