Alabama Power's Plant Auxiliary – Alabama Power Hydro role is based at one or more hydro facilities across Alabama. Candidates must indicate all locations they are willing to be considered for during the application.

This entry-level position provides hands-on work and a path to specialist tracks within the plants. The role involves cleaning plant spaces, assisting in operation and maintenance, possible heavy lifting, and rotating shifts with overtime and callouts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Secondary Education or Technical Degree (Industrial or Technical majors) preferred.
• 1-2 years of manual labor, construction, maintenance, electrical or working on heavy equipment preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old; possess a valid driver's license; able to pass POSS/MASS tests; rotating shifts; overtime and call outs; live within one hour of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility is cleaning the plant, offices and grounds.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of Alabama Power generating plants.
• Work in confined spaces and handle equipment safely.
