Alabama Power seeks Plant Auxiliaries to support hydro facilities across Alabama. This entry-level role offers hands-on work with opportunities to advance through specialist tracks and grow within a community-focused company.

You will help keep plant spaces clean and support daily operation and maintenance tasks. Positions require physical stamina, the ability to work in confined spaces, and rotation of shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of secondary education or technical degree (industrial or technical majors).
• 1-2 years of manual labor, construction, maintenance, electrical or working on heavy equipment preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
• Willing to relocate within one hour of the plant due to call-out requirements; no relocation assistance.
• Experience with mechanics, electricity, shop machinery, welding or piping is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean the plant, office spaces and maintain plant grounds.
• Assist in operation and maintenance of Alabama Power generating plants.
• Work a 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM schedule with potential for rotating shifts, overtime, and call outs.
