Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking an entry-level Plant Auxiliary at our hydro facilities across Alabama. The role supports plant operations, maintenance, and grounds keeping, with opportunities to progress along several specialist tracks.

Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and work rotating shifts. Locations include Weiss Dam, Thurlow Dam, Harris Dam and more; you may be considered for one or multiple sites based on selections and business needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of secondary education or technical degree in industrial/technical majors preferred.
• Experience in manual labor, construction, maintenance, electrical or heavy equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, shop machinery, welding and piping is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Primary task is cleaning the plant, offices and grounds, with occasional operation and maintenance support.
• Work 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. and be available for rotating shifts, overtime, and call outs.
• Operate equipment and hand tools as needed; climb stairs and ladders, work at heights.
