Alabama Power is seeking an entry‑level Plant Auxiliary at hydro facilities across multiple locations. This hands‑on role focuses on cleaning, maintenance, and supporting plant operations to serve communities.

The position requires physical fitness, ability to handle heavy equipment, and willingness to work 6:00 AM–2:30 PM with rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call. Starting pay is approximately $26.78/hour plus benefits, with potential raises based on performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Secondary Education or Technical Degree (Industrial or Technical majors) preferred
• 1-2 years of manual labor, construction, maintenance, electrical or working on heavy equipment preferred
• Required to work in confined spaces
• Ability to perform physically demanding activities while working in all types of temperature extremes; bend, kneel, crawl, stoop and stand for long periods

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility is cleaning the plant, office spaces and maintaining the plant grounds
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of Alabama Power generating plants
• Operate tools and hand tools as needed
