Job summary

Brookfield Renewable U.S. is seeking a Repower Outage Supervisor to provide technical and supervisory support to the Asset team on maintenance, capital and ROI projects affecting hydro turbines.

You will coordinate scope, design, fabrication specs, and on-site outages across PJM/MN regional assets, with travel as needed. The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree, 3 years in project management or team leadership in power generation, and strong problem solving, planning and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 years project management or team lead experience.
• Experience in power generation; hydro experience preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards.
• Experience with rigging, craning, confined space, work at height, and electrical best practices.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and track project tasks and overall execution.
• Coordinate onsite laydown areas for multiple contractors.
• Monitor and track project milestones.
• Coordinate QA/QC milestones with Project Managers & Technical Manager.
• Coordinate and track outage planning with the field Supervisor and energy forecasting.
• Establish and plan project schedules.
• Prepare specifications and fabrication sketches for replacement parts.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis to avoid repeats.
• Develop preventive maintenance procedures.
• Support field supervisors for emergency repairs and cover their duties when needed.
• Maintain progress reports, schedules and accountabilities.
• Manage safety, scope, cost, schedule and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Strive for continuous improvement of unit availability and generation.
• Develop a condition monitoring program for critical equipment.
• Coordinate with purchasing to procure materials and equipment.
• Be On Call for emergencies.
• Other duties as specified by the Technical Manager.
